Thank you for choosing to use the "Parati" mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "Application"). This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Application. Please read this PRIVACY POLICY carefully before using the Application. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Application, which is specifically designed for use with True Wireless Smart Earbuds from Parati. The Application allows you to personalize and optimize your earbuds' sound settings to enhance your listening experience according to your individual preferences.
In this Privacy Policy:
"Parati," "we," "us," and "our" refer to G.M.I. Technology Inc.
"G.M.I. Affiliates" means G.M.I. Corporation, the ultimate parent company of G.M.I. Technology Inc., and any legal entities controlled by G.M.I. Corporation, including but not limited to Rehear Audiology Co., Ltd.
"G.M.I. Group" collectively refers to G.M.I. Technology Inc., G.M.I. Corporation, and all of their controlled affiliates.
The term "control" refers to the direct or indirect ownership of at least fifty percent (50%) of the voting rights in an entity or the ability to direct its management decisions.
This Privacy Policy complies with applicable international data protection laws, including but not limited to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Taiwan Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
We use the Collected Data (defined below) to provide, maintain, and improve the features and functions of the Application, and to deliver related content and services.
You have certain data protection rights, including the rights to object to some types of processing and to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
We may share the Collected Data with authorized third parties for the purposes of providing services, complying with legal obligations, or protecting our legal rights and interests.
The Collected Data may be transferred internationally to Taiwan, the United States, and other jurisdictions that may have different data protection standards than those in your home country or region.
When you use the Application, Parati may collect the following information (collectively referred to as the "Collected / Use Data") automatically:
(i) Information about your device where the Application is installed (the "Installed Device"):
- Device ID automatically assigned by the system, along with device specifications, and features (e.g., product type, manufacturer, model name)
- Operating system and version
- Language settings, country/region, and time zone
- Operational status of the Installed Device and its components (e.g., camera)
(ii) Information about the Application itself:
- Application ID automatically assigned (unique identifier)
- Application version
- Timestamps related to your use of the Application
- Usage status and history of the Application
(iii) Information about connected Parati devices ("Related Device")
- Device ID (e.g., Bluetooth address, serial number, registration ID) and specifications/features (e.g., product type, device name, manufacturer, model name)
- Operational status and settings of the Related Device (e.g., software version, language, country or region, current time zone)
- Usage status and history of the Related Device (e.g., active features, functions in use, connected devices, error reports)
- Technical information about audio playback (e.g., codec used)
(iv) Current Location (GPS) Information:
The system requires location permissions to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. When your device connects to our products via this application, the process will collect the device's location information, but this application will not track or store your location data.
The Collected Data is uploaded with a unique identifier assigned to the Installed Device, allowing the G.M.I. Group to distinguish your device's data from other devices.
(a) Providing and improving services
We use the Collected Data to:
- Provide and maintain the Application's features and functionality
- Improve and develop both current and future products and services offered by the G.M.I. Group
- Deliver updates, resolve technical issues, and ensure system stability
- Send you information or support you request
(b) Consent-based processing
If you select "Agree and Proceed" when prompted, we will process your data based on your consent.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by navigating to: Menu (⋮) → "About this App" → "Privacy Settings" within the Application.
(c) Processing Based on Legitimate interests
We may also process your data where necessary for our legitimate interests, including but not limited to:
- Identifying and preventing security threats, unauthorized access, or data breaches
- Responding to lawful requests or legal processes from government or law enforcement authorities
- Enforcing our Terms of Use or other policies
- Protecting intellectual property rights or assisting other parties in rights enforcement.
The Collected Data may be shared as follows:
- Within the G.M.I. Group, including but not limited to Rehear Audiology Co., Ltd. — To develop, improve, and provide products and services.
- Third-party service providers — We engage trusted contractors (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, security) to process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality and data protection agreements.
- Business transfers — If Parati or any G.M.I. Affiliate undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
- Legal compliance — We may disclose data when required by law, regulation, or court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
We retain the Collected Data as long as you use the Application.
Automatically collected data will be deleted within twenty-seven (27) months of collection, unless longer retention is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
You may also request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us (see Section 16).
Please note that some data may be required for the Application to function properly, and we may need to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.
Your data may be processed, stored, and transferred to Taiwan, the United States, and other jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country/region.
When transferring data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or equivalent legal mechanisms.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
However, please note that no internet transmission or electronic storage system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security against all potential threats.
The Application is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local law).
We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided data to us without your consent, please contact us (see Section 16), and we will promptly take appropriate action.
Depending on your location (e.g., the EEA, California, Taiwan), you may have the right to:
- Request access to and a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction, update, or deletion of inaccurate or unnecessary data
- Request data portability in a machine-readable format
- Object to or restrict certain types of data processing
- Lodge a complaint with a local data protection authority

California residents may also request information under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 regarding our disclosure of personal data for direct marketing purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements.
We will post the updated version at www.paratiaudio.com and display a notice within the Application when significant changes are made.
Your continued use of the Application after the updated Privacy Policy is posted indicates your acceptance of the changes.
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan) without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Taipei District Court in Taiwan as the court of first instance.
This Privacy Policy is issued by G.M.I. Technology Inc. as the data controller.
